New Landscapes!

I hope all is well with everyone! Summer has kicked into full gear here in central PA. It's hot today, and it's supposed to stay hot for most of the week.

Speaking of hot, I have a few new paintings to take you back to cooler days. The first two were inspired by my time at the nearby apple orchards. I've been having a lot of fun exploring this theme of apple trees in blossom and how the light affects the colors.

The third was inspired by my childhood experiences of watching the moon rise over the wetlands near my home. It's an autumn scene with vibrant glowing colors which contrast the serenity and solitude of a marsh.

All of these paintings are oil on linen or linen panel; they come framed and ready to hang in that special place in your home or office. Contact me at luke_tako@yahoo.com if you would like to inquire about these beautiful works of art or if you would like to see an image of the painting in the included frame. New Gallery and History Meets the Arts

Last weekend was a great time at History Meets the Arts!! The Thursday storm stayed away and allowed people to walk between galleries and sample all the great food. I was honored to learn at the show that both the Chief Editor and the Political Reporter of the Pittsburgh Tribune Review are collectors of my work.

A couple friends of mine, Scott and Chris, showed up and brought the painting they had commissioned me to create. Scott is a Civil War re-enactor who portrays Union Major General James Birdseye McPhearson. Below is a photo of Scott and I at History Meets the Arts, flanking the painting I had done.

I have some Great News! My work will now be represented in the Fort Worth Texas area by Weiler House Fine Art Gallery at 3126 Handley Dr, Fort Worth, TX. Built in 1906, Weiler House is located within the historic Handley area and showcases some of the finest original art in Fort Worth. If you are in the area, stop in and see my paintings, or click here to see their website. Below are the painting I currently have in Weiler House Fine Art Gallery. More are on the way.

History Meets the Arts starts tonight! If you like art, American history, great food, and meeting world-renown artists, then don't miss this event!

I will be there with this new painting I just finished yesterday, the final version of Blossoms & Blue (the study is already sold), I will also have many other paintings on exhibit. Unfortunately digital images cannot capture the beauty of the colors or textures in this painting. History Meets the Arts

Gettysburg, PA is the place to be later this week if you love great art, great food, history and lots of fun. The 16th Annual History Meets the Arts begins this Thursday and runs through Saturday at Lord Nelson's Gallery right off Rte 30 in downtown Gettysburg.

Beginning Thursday at 5pm there is the Edible Art Tour. Visit half a dozen art galleries and numerous artists (including yours truly) throughout the town and sample the great food by local top tier chefs. This is a ticketed event, see website for details. History Meets the Arts is in conjunction with the Gettysburg Festival, so there will be more than enough fun to be had. Not only will there be paintings, but also 18th century replicas like black powder guns, tomahawks, rocking chairs and more!

I will be exhibiting some exciting new paintings in Lord Nelson's Gallery! Beautiful spring apple orchards of Adams County, majestic autumn landscapes, and intimate Battlefield scenes that reflect the now peacefulness of a once war-torn land. Below is a sample of what I will be exhibiting at History Meets the Arts.

I hope to see you there. Don't miss the 16th Annual History Meets the Arts!
