This small study of a Wood Duck was a lot of fun to paint. Many times the background of a wildlife painting is the most challenging for me. The animal is easy, since I know exactly what I need to do, but the background can be more ambiguous. With this background I decided to have fun with textures and suggestions of forest foliage.One Leg Up
