An old rusted barn just outside of town tells the story of simplicity, honesty, family, country, and endurance. Actually, it has many stories to tell, if people will listen. It's days are probably numbered, but it continues to speak to us about our past, and perhaps about our future. I had to paint it so it would continue to speak even after it's torn down. This painting received the Second Place Award at Mountain Maryland Plein Air 2012.
