Crossing Denali, oil on linen, 24"x36"

This female Grizzly was in Denali National Park on the way to Mt. McKinley. You can only get to this part of the park by bus or on foot. As close as this bear was to us, I was thankful that I was on the bus. When the bear was spotted, everybody rushed to the one side of the bus to get a better look; I thought the bus was going to tip over. We watched and photographed the bear as she lumbered down the hill and out of sight. It was an incredible experience that I will never forget.

Crossing Denali is full of beautiful texture with a combination of thick and thin brush strokes and palette knife work. Just like Alaska, the colors are vivid and cannot be fully represented with a digital image, or even in print. The size of this oil painting (24"x36") makes it a beautiful center-piece for hanging over a fireplace or couch. Different framing options that would suit your interior atmosphere are available.
